Jake drops the Hot 6!

Band: Daft Punk
Album: Alive 2007
Notes: One of the best electronic albums i've heard yet.  If ur not having full on dance party in the car by the end of this then you got issues, homes.

  Band: The Honorary Title
Album: Scream and Light Up the Sky
Notes: Pretty upbeat but a pretty good album.

Band: The Devil Makes Three
Album: Same as above
Notes: Good for a little acoustic jam session.  Careful though,  after listening to songs like "old number seven" you may find youself pouring a drink or two, or seven.

  Band: The Duke Spirit
Album: Neptune
Notes: Very impressed with these guys.  Went to check them out a couple months ago and had an awesome time.  Got the feeling they could blow up.  If anything, go check them out for the lead singer, she's a born rockstar.

Band: Pela
Album: Anytown Graffiti
Notes: Saw them at Sasquatch and had a lot of fun.  Pretty rockin, but as most bands go for me, way better to see live.  Still a great album, if I could remember the name.

Band: Wax Tailor
Album: Tales of the Forgotten Melodies
Notes: Good beats, mellow and chill.

Thanks Cakes and Pies!

Galactic......courtesy of Grant.

Band: Galactic
Album: "From the Corner to the Block"
Notes: This is the follow up album from ruckus that features a different hip-hop lyricist on each track. This album is host to copious amounts of talent such as Lyrics Born, Mr. Lif, Gift of Gab, chali 2na, Sage Francis, and many more. Definitely worth your while.
Current Favorite Song(s): Ask Baby Jesus

Thanks Baby J !!!

Two from Melissa.

Band: Tristan Prettyman
Album:
Twentythree
Notes: She was cute and had a fresh little voice, she opened for JBT and G-Love the other day and was pretty good live. I think I like her first album best titled Twentythree.  "Hello", her second one is pretty good though. . . . but still up for debate.
Current Favorite Song(s):
#5 Shy That Way w/ Jason Mraz, #7 Breathe.

Thanks Mele Mel.

From the Land of Cheese, JCH drops the knowledge!!

Band: Mates of State
Album: Re-Arrange Us
Notes: Amazing SOUNDING record...that I just cannot stop singing along too.  It's like a g!@#!damn KISS record...but better...much better.
Current Favorite Song(s): Blue and Gold Print
Links: http://www.matesofstate.com/

Band: Robert Plant and Alison Kraus
Album: Raising Sand
Notes: As a guy who was raised playing bluegrass music...and then converted to rock and roll by led zeppelin.....THIS is a record I have been waiting for since I heard about its inception.  REALLY cool, very vibey...with awesome T-bone Burnett production.  Their voices work SO well together...and hearing Robert Plant at damn near 70's....sing...makes you remember how great of a singer he really is !!
Current Favorite Song(s): The whole album!

Band: Sunday Runners "Tame Animals"
Album: Tame Animals
Notes: Full disclosure..I produced and mixed this record by a great indie rock Chicago band.  I usually do not listen to a record that I produce until 8 months to a year after its done....the label sent this to me last week...and I forgot how cool it is.  If you are into stuff like guided by voices (with whom 3/4 of Sunday Runners have toured) or early modest mouse..you may dig these guys.
Current Favorite Song(s): "Stuntman" which is a song about the untimely death of the singer's good friend when they were in high school.

Band: The Avett Brothers
